David So

Artist

David So is a Korean American comedian, YouTuber, actor, and singer born originally in Seoul, South Korea on March 30, 1987, and raised in Sacramento, California – his parents own (and still own) a beauty store there, according to So himself.

David moved down to LA to become a comedian after dropping out of university at California State University, Sacramento (CSUS) but started uploading to YouTube on the side. His first videos included rants on a variety of things including hot topics and just things that generally made him upset in particular; one of his most popular videos from his early days was his rant on UCLA girl Alexandra Wallace back in 2011.

David is also passionate about singing, which prompted him to open a second channel for his music activities, but the channel would often lay dormant for significant amounts of time; he wouldn’t regularly post on the channel until 2019. Besides YouTube, David also owns his own soft-serve ice cream shop in Koreatown called Drips & Swirls and co-owns the bubble tea shop called Sip Matcha with JK cofounder Joe Jitsukawa.

David is also currently co-hosting the food program Send Foodz with fellow Asian American content creator and close friend Timothy DelaGhetto.
