One of the most controversial female figures in the history of rock music, Courtney Love is best known for her leading role in Hole and for her relationship with Nirvana frontman Kurt Cobain.

Born and raised in San Francisco, Love brought some raw, brazen feminism into the ‘90s grunge scene. Often outshined by her husband’s fame, she was both loved and hated throughout her career; a bad reputation strengthened by her own unapologetic behavior.

Apart from founding and leading Hole for over a decade, she released a solo album and a few singles. She also appears in several movies and TV shows.
