Miss Prada is the artist name for Joanne the Scammer (also known as Joanne Prada), a character portrayed by comedian and actor Branden Miller.

Miss Prada started her career through homemade music videos uploaded onto YouTube, some of the most popular ones being “Big Dick – Music Video!!!” and “Shake That Ass!!! – Music Video INSIDE THE MALL!!!” She quickly garnered a following due to the explicit and comedic nature of the videos.

Joanne used to portray a transgender diva who was an occasional prostitute, however, the focus of the character changed in mid-2014 when Branden posted a video announcing that he will no longer be playing Joanne for a while due to his mother’s health worsening:

It threw me off mentally, for like a year and a half. I couldn’t make videos like I could. When I did decide to come back, I did the video where I said I love robbery and fraud, and then it just, everything happened too quickly

After taking a break from portraying the character, Joanne made a comeback in December 2015 when she posted a video on Instagram telling everyone that she’s a “real messy bitch” and changed the focus of the character, to now portray a caucasian woman that robs, scams, lies and causes trouble. Joanne also took to Twitter and changed her name to Joanne the Scammer, which is how she’s commonly known today.

The content that Branden posted of the character after his break also differed from older videos, with Joanne the Scammer now only posting videos that talk about scamming, cheating, lying, robbing people, and being “fake” or “petty.” Sometimes they referenced her ex-boyfriend and mocked his now-girlfriend, often telling her to “stop stalking her” and that she “will never be like Joanne.”
