D4L was a hip-hop group formed in 2003 formerly comprised of Atlanta rappers Fabo, Mook-B, Stoney aka Stuntman, and Shawty Lo. The group’s name stands for “Down for Life” and signed to Dee Money Entertainment.

D4L’s biggest hit, and the song they’re most known for, is “Laffy Taffy.” It hit No. 1 on the Hot 100 in January 2006.

Their debut album was released in conjunction with Asylum Records in November 2005 and was promoted with their debut single “Betcha Can’t Do It Like Me.”

Shortly after the success of “Laffy Taffy” subsided, Shawty Lo embarked on a solo career. In 2011, D4L signed a joint venture with 50 Cent’s G-Unit record label but never released another project.
