Rob Markman is a veteran hip-hop journalist and Genius' Head of Artist Relations. He got his start freelancing for publications like Complex, The Source, VIBE, and Don Diva magazines. He has held full-time editor positions at SCRATCH, XXL, MTV News and now Genius, where he has been since August 2015.
During his career, Markman has interviewed artists like Jay Z, Lil Wayne, Nicki Minaj, Drake, J. Cole, and Kendrick Lamar.
In 2012, he teamed with Wiz Khalifa for an interview on the rapper’s Taylor Allderdice mixtape.
In 2017, Markman announced his foray into rapping, and shortly after released his first EP, Write to Dream.
