Clifford Lee “Cliff” Burton (born 10th of Febuary) was a well known American musician, mainly recognized for playing the bass guitar in Metallica. Cliff was well known for his style of playing bass guitar and has been called “The Hendrix of Bass” by his Bandmates and his future replacement Jason Newstead.

Burton unfortunately died on September 27th, 1986, his cause of death being he was crushed by a Metallica tour bus after it flipped over.

His legacy consists of the first three Metallica albums, Kill ‘Em All (in which he came up with the name for), Ride The Lightning, and Master of Puppets.
