Artist

Richard Steven Valenzuela was a pop star in the late 1950s, when he was taken from the music world by the same plane crash that killed Rock & Roll legend Buddy Holly and upcoming rock star The Big Bopper.

He was immortalized not only by Don McLean’s song “American Pie”, but also by the film portraying his life, La Bamba.
