ILLENIUM

Artist

Nick Miller (a.k.a. ILLENIUM) is an American DJ born in San Francisco. In 2012, he was inspired by a Bassnectar performance at Red Rocks and noted that

when I saw Bassnectar, I got Ableton the next day.

He went on to launch his self-titled debut album in 2013.

After emerging as a then-unknown bedroom producer in 2013, ILLENIUM first broke through on the strength of his early independent releases, including his 2014 self-released Risen and his 2016 debut album, Ashes. His follow-up album, Awake, expanded his vision and cultural impact. Released in September 2017, Awake features the ILLENIUM classics “Crawl Outta Love,” featuring Annika Wells; “Fractures,” featuring Nevve and many more. The album received critical and commercial success.

Where Ashes and Awake formed the ILLENIUM sound, Ascend, released in August 2019 secured his arrival as dance music’s newest crossover king. Serving as both his third full-length album and his major label debut, Ascend was one of the biggest electronic releases of the year, counting +1 billion collective streams and securing a Top 20 hit on the Billboard 200 chart. The album’s lead single “Take You Down” chronicles his past battles with drug addiction and his triumphant recovery. The album also included his hit, “Takeaway” with EDM giant, The Chainsmokers, and gained platinum status by 2020.

Onstage, ILLENIUM brings his empowering music to life via his dynamic live show—fully equipped with live keyboards, drum pads and cinematic visuals—that’s seen him dominate the world’s leading festivals, including Coachella, Lollapalooza and many more. as well as his own international solo tours. In 2019, he launched his 42-date Ascend Tour as his most ambitious live excursion to date with sold-out landmark performances at Madison Square Garden and three consecutive nights at the legendary Red Rocks Amphitheatre.

Now as a newly independent artist, ILLENIUM joins 12Tone Music and enters his next creative phase with upcoming music, set for release throughout 2020. It will speak directly to his fans and presents the same much-needed escape he’s delivered over the years.

The start of the 2020s witnessed Illenium preparing the foundations of his next album, Fallen Embers, which was released in 2021, and mainly featured his friends in bass music such as Krewella, Excision and Nurko. The album gained great recognition to the point of being nominated for Grammy Awards' best electronic album of the year. Illenium later on released his self-named album in 2023. This time, he collaborated with pop stars such as Avril Lavigne and JVKE, together with bass music collaborations like Wooli and Said The Sky.
