Ariel Pink

Artist

Ariel Marcus Rosenberg (born June 24, 1978), better known by his stage name Ariel Pink, is an American singer-songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, and record producer based in Los Angeles, California.

As a teenager, he began recording tracks on an eight-track Portastudio. In 1998, he made his debut by self-releasing Underground. In 2000, he released The Doldrums and sold it at CalArts, where he attended for fine arts. Later, he dropped out, lived in a Hindu ashram, and recorded 5 albums from 2001-2003.

Until the release of pom pom in 2014, all of the albums were credited to his solo project, Ariel Pink’s Haunted Graffiti. Ariel said that he chose to do this, because people often mistake his name to be Ariel Pink, when it is actually Ariel Rosenberg.

There’s no Ariel Pink, there’s no Ariel Pink’s Haunted Graffiti, that was my project, not like a persona. My name’s Ariel Rosenberg and I have a solo project that I called Ariel Pink’s Haunted Graffiti.

He has collaborated with people like lo-fi legend R. Stevie Moore, Dâm-Funk, Miley Cyrus, Charli XCX and others. The first album with being credited to Ariel Pink, pom pom has been his most successful album to date, peaking at 150 on Billboard’s 200.
