Josh Klinghoffer is an American songwriter and multi-instrumentalist. He is best known for his work as the former guitarist of the Red Hot Chili Peppers, having replaced his friend and frequent collaborator John Frusciante in 2009 after initially serving as a touring member. Klinghoffer was subsequently inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame with the RHCP in 2012, thus becoming the youngest (age 32) living inductee. In December 2019, the RHCP announced that Klinghoffer had left after 10 years, and Frusciante would be rejoining. 

Additionally, Klinghoffer is the frontman and founding member of the experimental rock band Dot Hacker, comprised of former touring members of Gnarls Barkley – Klinghoffer was a member from 2006-2008. Since 2019, Klinghoffer has released solo work under the name Pluralone, a name originally intended as a working title for Dot Hacker.

Klinghoffer has also worked as a session artist for notable acts including Beck and PJ Harvey, as well as contributing as a former member of The Bicycle Thief, Ataxia, and Warpaint.
