Two Friends is a Los Angeles-based duo of Matt Halper and Eli Sones. They met in high school and began producing music together, with Halper contributing his guitar, choir, and music theory experience and Sones contributing his hip-hop DJing experience. They continued to record together even though they attended different colleges, with Sones attending Vanderbilt University in Nashville and Halper attending Stanford University in Palo Alto, California.

In 2013, they released their debut EP, [You (Me)], featuring the songs “Feel Me” with Priyanka Atreya and “Your Song” with I Am Lightyear. A year later, they released a pair of collaborations with Breach the Summit. The two then graduated from college in 2015 and released the singles “Forever” and “Overdose” in 2016. A year later, they released their sophomore EP, [Out of Love], with support from Spinnin' Records. This EP featured the hits “Emily,” “While We’re Dreaming,” and “Just a Kid.” Following this, the duo released various remixes for artists such as Charlie Puth, Dua Lipa, and many others, as well as other singles and collaborations.

In 2021, they released their third EP, Useless, featuring the songs “This Will Be My Year” with Point North and the title track with Emily Vaughn. Today, they continue to release new music, notably “Love Love,” “Life’s Too Short,” and many others. They have become well-known for their bright, upbeat anthems, similar to those of Jonas Blue, Louis the Child, and Autograf. Their high-profile remixes for artists like Lana Del Ray and others have established them as one of the best in the EDM music industry.
