Five-time Grammy winner Bruce Swedien (pronounced “swi-DEEN”) is a famous engineer who got his start working on the hit “Big Girls Don’t Cry” by The Four Seasons in 1962. He is most famed for his work with Michael Jackson on his albums from 1978 through 2001 including the record-setting Thriller.

Part of the secret to Swedien’s success as an engineer is his synesthesia which allows him to know when sounds are right by the colors they trigger in his sight.
