Robert Rian Dawson was born on December 18, 1987 in Baltimore, Maryland. His mom is named Kathi and his step dad is named Denis. He has an older brother named Chase. He now plays drums for the band, and can also play the piano and guitar.

Rian is the most responsible member of the band and is often compared to the father of the band.

Earlier in 2015, Rian had won best drummer for the APMA’s.

Dawson and ex-girlfriend, Cassadee Pope were engaged on February 10, 2017 but since then, have called off their engagement.
