Anthony Jermaine White, better known by his stage name J. White Did It, is a record producer and songwriter hailing from Kansas City originally born in Dallas, Texas of 1984.

J. White struggled for many years in his early career. He spoke on this period of time in several interviews including a 2018 interview with Vibe:

I started DJing at clubs around Kansas. I knocked on doors, passed out fliers, and I just started grinding. I was a janitor at the time, too. I didn’t care.

His career breakthrough came in 2017 when he produced Cardi B’s song “Bodak Yellow,” which topped the Billboard Hot 100. The successful collaboration between White and Cardi continued in 2018 when the two gained another Billboard Hot 100 peak at No. 1 with her hit “I Like It.” In 2020, White produced Megan Thee Stallion’s “Savage Remix,” which again, reached No. 1 on Billboard Hot 100.

White has also worked with well-acclaimed artists including: Iggy Azalea, Gucci Mane, Flo Milli and many more.

Previously, White appeared twice on the Genius Deconstructed series, where he talked about how Cardi B’s 2018 single “Money” and Megan Thee Stallion’s early 2020 track “Savage” were made.
