Cenzo Townshend

Artist

Vincenzo Capellini Townshend “From tea boy to mix extraordinaire” over the last twenty years has been involved in mixing best selling albums and singles from talents such as: The Maccabees, Everything Everything, U2, Snow Patrol, Elbow, Florence & the Machine, George Ezra, Ben Howard, Jamie T, Block Party and Jake Bugg.

Although Cenzo Townshend won’t need an introduction to many, for those that aren’t aware, the man is arguably one of the best and go-to mix engineer this side of the Atlantic.

His career began in the late ‘80s at London’s Trident Studios where he worked as assistant to Mark 'Spike’ Stent, who he still hails to this day as. Then, after working independently with Ian Broudie for eight years, he teamed up with Stephen Street (Blur, The Smiths) at The Bunker in Olympic Studios, where he retained residency until it closed its doors in 2009. A two-year stint at Metropolis followed, but today?

Townshend works out of his own Decoy Studio in Woodbridge – a quite delectable facility, the undeniably beautiful and devilishly stunning studio is honestly breathtaking and the work place to Cenzo and his hand picked team.
He’s even got a lake. Jealous? Yes.
