Daniel Martin (8 March 1996-), better known by his stage name Afghan Dan, is a British grime MC from Blackpool, England, U.K.

Dan’s popularity initially blew up in late 2016 with his diss tracks towards fellow up-and-coming rappers from Blackpool on the YouTube channel BGMedia. The grittiness of the tracks and Dan’s violent, profanity-laced lyrics caught the attention of Noisey (a popular music newsmagazine started in 2011 by its parent company, Vice Media), who ended up making two separate documentaries on the Blackpool grime scene, the first released on November 30, 2016, and the second exactly one year later.

Dan was one of three MCs interviewed for both documentaries, along with Josh “Little T” Tate, and Sophie Aspin (aka “Soph Aspin”).

Since the release of the first documentary, Dan has racked up millions of views on YouTube, and his music has also seen popularity on both iTunes & Spotify. Afghan Dan has also appeared on popular U.K. media channels such as OneWayTv, Jdz Media, BBC Radio 1Xtra, Don’t Flop Entertainment and more.
