Nightwalker

TEN

Being the dark and atmospheric leading track of TEN’s self-titled debut mini-album, “Nightwalker” describes the “feeling of being drawn to an irresistible presence” accompanied by religious imagery on top of a dance-pop instrumental. In a promotional video, he described wanting to portray a villain-like character. In the song, he worships a “nightwalker,” likely a vampire or other evil being that roams at night.

Physical editions of the EP have revealed an earlier title to be “GODMOTHER,” fitting with the religious imagery, and TEN has referred to it as “Midnight Comes” named after a line he particularly likes.

There was apparently internal debate on what the leading track of the mini-album should’ve been, but ultimately, when it was brought to a vote, the most popular option was “Nightwalker” despite it not being the initial plan. TEN’s first thought when hearing the song’s demo was that it “must be really hard to record.”
