“But Daddy I Love Him” is the sixth track on Taylor’s eleventh studio album THE TORTURED POETS DEPARTMENT. The track was first announced on February 5th, 2024 alongside the whole track list for the album.

The title is seemingly a reference to the 1989 Disney film, The Little Mermaid, in which the titular mermaid Ariel had to give up her voice to be with the one she loved.
