‘Stay Awake’ was Example’s second single from his 2011 album ‘Playing in the Shadows’. It was also his second #1 single in the UK. Produced by dubstep production duo Nero, it was released on August 28th of the same year (the date 28.08, a reference to Nero’s song 2808).

The song is about how younger and younger children are doing drugs, and reflection on the ‘rave’ culture Example affiliates with himself and his music.
