Abyss is the first opening theme for the Kaiju No. 8 anime.

On February 29th 2024 it was announced that Yungblud would be part of the soundtrack on a video:

“I’m really honored to be able to provide this song. I’m really glad I was able to participate! When I got the idea, I immediately booked a studio in Tokyo and wrote the song while reading the story of Kaiju No. 8. It was a new challenge for me as well, and I think the song really complements the atmosphere and feeling of this work. Finding your place and finding friends.
