In this song Rocky looks deep into his career, the affects it’s having on him, and how things could’ve been much worse off. He looks at society as a whole, and at the people that compose it, and observes how we have/can destroy one another with nothing more than our words.

As annotated in the outro, the Phoenix is seen to be a symbol of rebirth, this hinting at the possibility that Rocky is trying to reinvent himself.
