“Balmes (A Better Life)” was a house music hit for Ian Pooley and Esthero. It became Pooley’s only song to chart in the US (it broke the top 40 on the US Dance Club Songs chart), and it became Esthero’s only song to chart in the UK, where it became a top 75 hit.

Lyrically, the song expresses a desire to get away to a paradise and stay there forever. An accompanying animated music video was released, depicting a house floating away and Esthero singing while dressed as an egg.
