Let It Bleed

Let It Bleed

The Rolling Stones

The title track off the seminal Let It Bleed remains until today a fan favorite and a regular number on the group’s live shows. It was also released as a single in Japan in February 1970.

Lyrically, it is full of double entendres and sexual innuendos between two lovers, managing to blur the line between the two main sides of every romantic relationship (the sexual and the tender one) beautifully.

Musically, it features a terrific mix between the delicate, acoustic strumming and the harsh steel slide that are prominent in the song, further emphasizing the duality of the lyrics. Moreover, the drums, bass and piano increase the intensity of the song as it goes on, resulting in a very euphoric finale (which coincides with the orgasm lines found in the ending lyrics).
