1 Time 4 Yo Mind

1 Time 4 Yo Mind

NATAS

This song is track #7 from NATAS' 1992 debut LP Life After Death.

Though NATAS is a group effort consisting of Esham, Mastamind and TNT, this song is one of several on the album in which Mastamind performs entirely on his own.

In this song he compares himself to some of the greatest minds from history to explain his namesake and why he’s the Mastamind of the art of rap.

It contains samples of Public Enemy’s “Louder Than A Bomb” in which the sample itself contains another sample of Davy DMX’s “One For The Treble”

Additionally it samples Santana’s “Hope You’re Feeling Better”. The inclusion of this sample is indicative of Esham’s early production style incorporating many samples from the Classic Rock and Heavy Metal genres, a practice not used often in rap music at the time of this recording.
