This duet was a collaboration with the duo’s friend, Jennifer Ryan Wilde (formerly Fuller). Here is what Jennifer wrote about the project on her website:
I recorded this song with Ryan Lum and Suzanne Perry of the band Love Spirals Downwards in 1993 for their album ‘Ardor.’ Suzanne and I created the vocals and I adapted a poem I wrote for the lyrics.
Dream of Love
I journey to the Valley of the Moon
Driven so forth by brilliant shafts of light
Half-crazed from lack of love I swoon
And cry your name into the cold dark night
I close my burning eyes to see your face
Floating in dreams that torture soul and heart
With promises of love and light and grace
That disappear ‘pon waking with a start
I find myself alone, confused and forlorn
And gazing ‘round myself, surprise to see
The moon come down in woman-form
Her gentle lips and arms encompass me
As we all love to dream and dream of love
One’s the substance which the other is of
