Chloe Dancer / Crown of Thorns

Chloe Dancer / Crown of Thorns

Mother Love Bone

The penultimate track on the band’s 1989 debut EP Shine. Though the band never achieved a great deal of fame, this song has become the bands most enduring due to being featured prominently in movies such as Say Anything…. and Singles as well as the television show One Tree Hill.

The song is also regularly covered in concert by Pearl Jam, the band that would form from the ashes of Mother Love Bone.

“Chloe Dancer/Crown of Thorns” is actually two separate songs, sequenced together as one track, due to a common relationship between one another. The songs are purported to be about lead singer Andrew Wood’s former fiance Xana La Fuente.
