“Ciao!” Is a song off of Lush’s 1996 album Lovelife. The song is sung as a duet, and is about a breakup, with back and forth arguing between the two parts about who is better off without the other. The song was written by Miki Berenyi, who wrote “Ciao!” after drummer Chris Acland asked to sing on the album. Once Miki wrote him a part, Chris stopped asking, leaving Miki to wonder if he was joking about this request. After Miki sent him the demo, Jarvis Cocker, frontman of Pulp, appears on the song to sing the male part of the duet with Miki.

“Ciao!” was not released as a single, as Lush did not want to appear to be capitalizing on Jarvis’ fame and the Britpop trend.
