She’s the One

Robbie Williams

The track that became Robbie Williams' second solo UK number-one single was originally recorded by rock band World Party. The band received an Ivor Novello award in 1997 but failed to see any real success from the track.

When Williams picked up the single, thanks to song-writing with Guy Chambers who had worked on the original World Party track, he went on to win two Brit Awards in 2000.

World Party frontman, Karl Wallinger was critical of Williams' version but eventually relied on the royalty checks when he suffered a brain aneurysm that left him unable to speak.
