She Cries Your Name

Beth Orton

“She Cries Your Name” was originally released on Orton’s 1993 album Superpinkymandy, a collaborative downtempo electronic effort written and recorded with producer William Orbit. In 1995, Orbit released a modified version of the song his Strange Cargo album Hinterland.

Orton re-recorded “She Cries Your Name” as a folk song and released it as the second single from her album Trailer Park. It became a minor UK hit in late 1996. After the release of the album’s third and fourth singles, “She Cries Your Name” re-charted higher at #40 in the UK in June of 1997.
