“Sleigh Ride” was originally composed in 1946 by Leroy Anderson. The Ronettes' cover, released in 1963, has become the best-known version of the song.

In his 2004 book Leroy Anderson: A Bio-Bibliography, Steve Metcalf says:

“Sleigh Ride” […] has been performed and recorded by a wider array of musical artists than any other piece in the history of Western music.
