R.A. grew up idolizing Stanley Kubrick and other visionary directors of the 20th century. The song is named after and inspired by the late director of violent thrillers such as Straw Dogs, The Getaway, Bring Me The Head Of Alfredo Garcia and The Wild Bunch. Sam Peckinpah battled drug and alcohol addiction for much of his career, leading to his death by heart failure in 1984.

Vinnie Paz and R.A. first joined forces on the 2006 hip-hop classic “Uncommon Valor: A Vietnam Story” (by Jedi Mind Tricks. Following this were tracks on both of the first two solo albums by Vinnie Paz, Nosebleed in 2010 and Razor Gloves in 2012. “Sam Peckinpah” was released in 2013 and serves as their fourth collaborative song.
