“Butthole Surfer” is the sixth song on the Butthole Surfers' debut album, Psychic… Powerless… Another Man’s Sac.

This song is the source of the band’s name. In their early years, the Surfers performed under a different name each night (names like Ashtray Babyheads, Ed Asner is Gay, and The Inalienable Right to Eat Fred Astaire’s Asshole). One night, Chris Gates (of the Big Boys) mistakenly introduced them by the name of this song, a staple of their set. The band liked it, so the name stuck.

The band, however, hasn’t performed this song live since 1985.
