Amelia Bright was originally written to be included on the 4th Ben Folds Five album but was scrapped when the band broke up. On one of Ben Folds’s Apartment Request live streams, he said that this was one of the last songs the band recorded before breaking up.

It was later rewritten and rerecorded by Darren Jessee’s band Hotel Lights for the album Firecracker People.
