“5 Years” is, presumably, a song about someone Björk knew. Someone she surely loved and wanted a relationship from, yet the person did not reciprocate. In “5 Years”, Björk explains her position to this person, she explains that they seem to be afraid of nothing, and that it seems to her that they simply cannot love.
