Stresses in Drake’s life: a sense of alienation from those around him; the burden of everyone looking to him for help; feeling like a soulless creature moved only by ambition…

Despite it all, he remains confident that his life will be okay. This gives him a sense of calm even as he pontificates on his problems. The calm also refers to the zone he enters when writing: that stormy yet tranquil sublime clime of artistic awareness.

Also note that in both verses, he doesn’t change the rhyme scheme, so every word at the end of each verse rhymes with each other.
