Featuring vocals from renowned singer-songwriter Paul Williams, this song marks the midpoint of Random Access Memories and seems to possibly continue where “Within” left off.

Opening with a bizarre segment consisting of warped sines and synths, this track takes cues from the work of the late electronic composer Karlheinz Stockhausen before taking listeners on a genre-bending ride that spans electronic, ragtime, and orchestral music.

Paul’s vocals seep in and out of the song, longing for not only the physical, but emotional “touch” of other people after an extended period of time in isolation. The speaker may have had plenty of time to think and reflect while in their lonesome, but after looking inside themselves, they realize that they are missing something, and need “something more” to be fulfilled and feel truly human.
