This song is likely referencing the Waco Seige and David Koresh, leader of the “Branch Davidians,” who were a fringe Christian group. On February 28, 1993, ATF agents attempted to execute a search warrant for illegal firearms at the Davidian compound. A gunfight erupted, leaving four ATF agents and six Branch Davidians dead. A fifty one day siege culminated on April 19, 1993, when federal agents began implementing their final tactical resolution. Abrams Tanks and combat engineer vehicles broke through the walls injected tear gas into the compound. A fire broke out, and all but 9 of the Branch Davidians who remained in the compound, including women, children, and David Koresh, burned alive. There is debate as to the cause of the fire, but Sepultura makes it clear that they believe that it was started by the Davidians at order of Koresh. This is because Koresh’s final prophecy involved him and his followers defending the faith against “Babylon” and being engulfed in “a wall of fire.”
