“We Will Become Silhouettes” is literally the tale post-apocalyptic world or fear of an apocalypse, but metaphorically a song about sadness and relationships. The music, which is light and upbeat, certainly juxtaposes the depressing lyrics.

It was released as a single by The Postal Service in 2005, and became their first and only charting single, peaking at #82 on the Billboard Hot 100. However, “Such Great Heights” is arguably their more popular song.
