Bar-B-Q Pope

Butthole Surfers

“Bar-B-Q Pope” is the fourth song on the Butthole Surfers EP.

It’s one of the first recordings to feature longtime drummer King Coffey. Coffey was previously in a band called Hugh B who broke up because its members got involved in a check-writing scam – most of the band then fled to California to escape the wrath of the authorities. Coffey, newly free to pursue other activities, became the only drummer willing to perform with the Butthole Surfers.
