Animal in Man

stic.man flexes his storytelling skills in this song, drawing heavily from George Orwell’s dystopian allegorical novel, Animal Farm. Both the book and this song use the metaphor of animals on a farm to retell the Russian Revolution of 1917 and the subsequent class betrayal by Stalin’s authoritarian regime in the Soviet Union. The goal of any socialist revolution is to end the class struggle and create equality for all, and as socialists themselves, Orwell and stic.man warn of letting dictators rise to power and reinstate a heierarchical society in the aftermath of a socialist revolution.
