After parting ways with vocalist Joey Belladonna, Anthrax debuted their new singer John Bush (also of Armored Saint) to the world with “Only”, the lead single of their sixth album Sound Of White Noise.

Metallica frontman James Hetfield once called it a “perfect song” and originally said it was his favorite Anthrax track (drummer Charlie Benante says his favorite now is “Safe Home” instead).

“Only” remains Anthrax’s highest charting song on the US Rock Chart, reaching #26 in June 1993.

Since the return of Belladonna, “Only” is the only song from the Bush-era of Anthrax that he has sung live.
