In addition to sountracks, the song was sampled on trailers such as the trailer for Star Trek Discovery and the Dawn of the Planet of the Apes trailer.

A social commentary about resignation to apathy and carelessness, the track grew in exposure after a remix by Matstubs. The Matstubs remix has picked up over 150 million collective views on YouTube, and tens of millions of Spotify playlist. The success of “I’d Love to Change the World” was followed by another Matstubs and Jetta collaboration — a remix of “Take It Easy.”
