Eighth track on Fun.’s debut album Aim and Ignite, Barlights is about moving on and finding happiness, feeling “alive”, though it does not have such an uplift musical atmosphere : this shows that it is hard to move on, and that what the narrator has endured will never really leave him, because even though he has found the motivation to move on, he is affected deep down and was changed by everything that happened.

The song was briefly mentioned in Fun’s Some Nights album’s last track, ‘Stars’ :
“Some nights I rule the world, with Barlights and pretty girls”
