Cha Cha Cha

Cha Cha Cha

Flipmode Squad

“Cha Cha Cha” is the thirteenth track on the Flipmode Squad’s sole studio album The Imperial and performed my members Spliff Star, Rah Digga, Baby Sham and Busta Rhymes. The three verses are provided by Spliff, Rah and Sham respectively, while Busta provides a catchy chorus. Produced by frequent collaborator DJ Scratch, the song incorporates elements of the popular dance style known as the cha-cha-cha, characterized by its syncopated rhythm and Latin influences. However, the song’s lyrics primarily focus on boasting about the squad’s skills, bravado, and dominance in the rap game rather than the actual dance, using it as a metaphor for the process of battling the squad.

Released as the second and last single from the album, “Cha Cha Cha” peaked at #61 on the US Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs and #54 on the UK Singles charts. Excluded from the track are members Rampage and Lord Have Mercy, who instead perform the lead single “Everybody on the Line Outside”, alongside Busta. The music video of the song has a Latin inspired setting and contains scenes of crowds, including the squad, fleeing from bulls and the Flipmode members in a bullring.
