Back Door Man

Back Door Man

Howlin' Wolf

A 1961 Willie Dixon-penned ode to the cheatin' man. No matter what kind of trouble he gets into – shot, put on trial for murder, arrested – he has women ready and willing to bail him out of it

The song, with its powerful groove and self-confident lyrics, was beloved by 1960s rockers. It was famously covered by The Doors in 1967 and some lyrics were “borrowed” for Led Zeppelin’s 1969 jam “Whole Lotta Love”
