As Luke says, “…To me ‘1234’ is the epic-ness of the epic tracks, but I wasn’t even ready for such a huge success of this tune in such a short time.”

“1234” is a big room track first aired in one of the biggest electronic music events worldwide: Ultra Music Festival. Featuring the vocals from no other than Martin Solveig and Chuckie themselves, both widely recognized DJs and producers, Laidback Luke proves that with practice comes perfection – Or something very close to it.

When Laidback Luke released “1234”, in 2012, he was already in the production scene for about twenty years. From there till then, he has produced, to say the least, thousands of tracks from all kinds of electronic subgenres. By the time that EDM was gaining traction and electronic music festivals were getting bigger than ever, he was already producing “bangers” with today’s industry big names, like Steve Aoki and the Swedish House Mafia trio – So it’s no surprise that “1234” gained the praise from 2012 EDM Festival goers.

Chuckie, the Dirty Dutch pioneer, has also been behind the decks – and keyboards – since 1993, but being featured solely as the vocalist for the first time. The surinamese DJ did lent his own voice before, though, most famously in his 2011 hit “Who Is Ready To Jump.”

As for Martin Solveig, the french has no reason to shy away from a microphone, since he’s been singing since as a child, when he was a member of [The Paris Boys Choir(

). Much like the other two, he’s in the electronic music scene for about twenty years, having released five albums before featuring on this song.

With so much experience, it’s no wonder the international trio made “1234” the very definition of big room and electro house. On the song’s soundcloud blurb, Luke explains how the song came to be:

A little kid saying 1234 in one of [Luke’s] samplepacks made [him] think of having some fun and ask his fellows, Chuckie and Martin, to do the vocals in a similar chant style. And that made it complete: [The] track is not even about dancing, but jumping non-stop to it! Get ready for the ground to shake and for your own safety, make sure you don’t stand close to the speakers! =)
