As one of the iconic ’80s synthpop songs, Yaz’s “Don’t Go” is immediately recognized by many who might not know the name of the song. Yazoo’s signature sound combined blues and soul influenced vocals with synthpop sounds, and “Don’t Go” is no exception. Some may remember it from the Grand Theft Auto: Vice City soundtrack.

The second single on the band’s debut album Upstairs at Eric’s, “Don’t Go” peaked at #3 on the U.K. Singles chart, #8 on the Billboard Hot Dance Music chart and topped the Billboard Hot Dance Music/Club Play chart for 2 weeks in October of 1982.
