“Exodus” records Ruby and $crim referencing the Book of Exodus in the Bible, serving as the ending track to High Tide in the Snake’s Nest. Ruby compares himself to God using his lyrics, from referencing the Ten Plagues in the intro, Osiris, and a nod to the book of Isaiah.

$crim’s verse marks him equaling himself to Jesus and Satan. He switches his vocals from high to low—when he raps in a deep vocal tone; he personifies Satan in his lyrics. But then, when he switches back up to his raised voice, he goes back to embodying Jesus. This may also be him switching persona’s, from Yung Christ, and back down to Pontius Pilate.

While the boys both adapt screamo vocals at the start and the hook in between the verses, the fast, “god-like” rapping and clever references make “Exodus” a heathen’s classic.
