This is a song about how the speaker, who is gay, feels pressured by his Lebanese mother to act like he is straight, going so far as to marry a woman and live with her. He follows his mother’s whims, sending her things like professional family pictures he took with his wife to keep her happy. However, he knows that the thing his mother wants most–a grandchild–is something he cannot give her as a gay man.
