“U Can’t Touch This” is the third single and the second song on Hammer’s album Please Hammer Don’t Hurt ‘Em. The song was released and was an instant success. This song is one of Hammer’s best songs ever released. The song also earned Hammer two Grammy awards as well.

The second-best song ever to consist mostly of Rick James’s unstoppable “Super Freak” bassline – the first being “Super Freak” itself, of course.

In 1990, Rick James sued MC Hammer for copyright when Hammer sampled his song “Super Freak” in Hammer’s hit “U Can’t Touch This” without permission. They agreed to settle out of court and Hammer credited James as a co-composer. James won his first and only Grammy from “U Can’t Touch This”.
